In the beginning

These clutches were my very first sewing projects I made when I started sewing 3 years ago.  Once I finished my first clutch I was hooked! It was such a great feeling, it kind of gave me this natural high, so I continued to make more and more.   The more I sewed the more I realized how much I enjoyed the process of sketching out my ideas,  hunting for fabric and other materials, and then seeing it all come together.  I enjoyed the process.  I enjoyed making pretty things.  So I had it set in my mind that one day I will open an Etsy shop and sell beautiful, unique, handmade bags and clutches.   Fast forward three years and I am now ready to open up that shop that I often daydream about.

When I started this blog I really didn't have a clear direction as to what I wanted to do with it,  all I knew is that I wanted to sew and I wanted to blog.  That's it.  Well, I've finally figured out the direction that I want my blog to go in.  This blog will always be about sewing but I also want to use this blog to document my journey of starting and  running a successful  handmade business. This blog will be a place for me to share  my process, my ideas, what inspires me,  and of course, bits and pieces of everyday life.

One thing I hear time and time again(and I'm sure you have too) from people who have been successful at creating their own path in life is to follow your dreams and your passions and never settle.  I plan to do just that.  I am overly excited for this new journey to begin and I can't wait to see where it takes me : -)  I hope you do the same...
