Embroidery: Learning the French Knot

Leave it to me to wait until the last minute to decide on what I'm going to give my in-laws for mother's day but, sometimes the best ideas come out of procrastination don't they?
I've decided to do some personalized zipper pouches for my mother-in-law and grandmother- in-law, and since I've always wanted to learn how to embroider, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try my hand at it. Little did I know that the French Knot method would take a little more time than I expected. It's quite intimidating at first, but when I finally figured things out, it was a breeze. I have a few books on embroidery but there is nothing like watching a visual to learn how to do something. Below are the links that I referenced:

Oh, and you're right, this type of embroidery is a labor of love! Hope you were watching a good show or listening to some good music. These gifts are going to be something really special.
